Art Studio and Bathroom

Period: Victorian

Location: Haringey, London

Client: Private

Sector: /

Date: 2024

This internal remodelling job was split into two phases. Firstly, to reconfigure the first floor layout for a more generous bathroom with separate shower. Secondly, to create one large room on the top floor to be used as an artist studio.

The bathroom uses shades of blue (the clients favourite colour) which contrast with the orange stock bricks of the houses opposite. The arched detail within the sash windows has been influenced the arched entrance to the shower, which has been designed as a secondary room. Waterproof plaster wraps around the walls for a smooth finish, and small hand glazed tiles are laid next to the shower tray.

The art studio is dual aspect with original features restored and juxtaposed against a minimalist white interior. The dark stained timber floorboards are the perfect backdrop to working with tiny cut outs of coloured paper.
