A light touch refurbishment of a traditional rubble cottage with a focus on craft, layered textures and natural materials. The interior seeks to have a feeling of tranquility due to being situated on a busy road. Soft edges and curved furniture help to create this environment, along with a gentle colour palette and views to the terraced garden. The materials are drawn from the landscape and local context. Granite makes up the kitchen worktops, and oak was used from a nearby saw mill for shelves, kitchen and staircase.
